Thea Booijink has born in the Netherlands, nowadays living and working in the Algarve. She used to make figurative work but lately her work becomes more and more abstract.

As a self-taught artist navigating the realms of abstract figurative art, her work serves as a testament to the intuitive expressions that come from within. Her artistic journey, marked by self-discovery and continuous creativity reveals a visual language between abstraction and the tangible world.

Her inspiration comes from everywhere, the light that catches her eye, a feeling, a book text or a poem and lately also increasingly by nature. If the idea is viable, some sketches are made to find  the right balance and to capture the inexpressible essence of the subject.

She had her first exhibitions in 2020 and 2022 and her paintings and drawings are spread over Europe: Germany, France, Portugal and the Netherlands. Her paintings are for sale. For more information or a studio visit you can contact her.

Thea Booijink nasceu em Países Baixos, actualmente vive e trabalha no Algarve. Ela costumava fazer trabalhos figurativos, mas ultimamente seu trabalho se torna cada vez mais abstrato.

Como artista autodidata que navega nos domínios da arte figurativa abstrata, seu trabalho serve como um testemunho das expressões intuitivas que vêm de dentro. O seu percurso artístico, marcado pela autodescoberta e pela criatividade contínua revela uma linguagem visual entre a abstração e o mundo tangível.

A sua inspiração vem de todo o lado, da luz que lhe chama a atenção, de um sentimento, de um texto de livro ou de um poema e ultimamente também cada vez mais pela natureza. Se a ideia for viável, são feitos alguns esboços para encontrar o equilíbrio certo e captar a essência inexprimível do tema.
