Brigitte von Humboldt received her degree in art from the Academy of Arts affiliated to the University of Mainz in Germany. Her paintings are exhibited in museums and art galleries in various European countries and in Brazil and can be found in private and public collections.

Since1979 she has lived in Lagos, Portugal  and works in her studio “ATELIER AZUL” in Meia Praia and is a Founder Member of AAN.

Her preferred medium is acrylics, as these allow her to explore a broad variety of painting techniques. The intense style of working does not only require great concentration, but also a large measure of spontaneity.

Journeys to remote and  exotic parts of the world and the elements of nature inspire her to create paintings characterized by their vibrancy and depth of color.
